Our goal is to provide you with easy access to rare bird sightings from around North America. We currently provide two types of information:
1. The Rare Bird Reporting System
The rare bird reporting system is a location-based database of bird sightings created by Rarebirds.com users. Registered users can quickly and easily report their interesting sightings using a simple, single page input form. The reports in the rare bird reporting system can be browsed using an intuitive map-based system.
The Rarebirds.com database includes current (updated throughout the day) and archived rare bird alerts from the National Birding Hotline Cooperative's East, Central, and West mailing lists. The database is unique in its map-based approach and because the individual species within each report are tracked, allowing individual species to be displayed and summarized.
