On Aug 10, (3) BLACK SKIMMERS were at the pond near the Sewage Treatment
Plant at the end of Radio Road in Redwood SHores.

On Aug 10, a juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER was foraging among
juvenile WESTERN SANDPIPERS at Pescadero Marsh. (Ron Thorn)

On Aug 9, a monthly report from the Cordell Bank National Marine
Sanctuary, highlights included (15) BULLER'S SHEARWATERS, a
dark-rumped petrel, most likely a HAWAIIAN PETREL, lots of SOOTY and
PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATERS, LONG-TAILED JAEGERS, BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSSES,
a few auks and storm-petrels. (Steve Howe)

On Aug 10, (12) BLACK TERNS were seen along the eastern shore of
Mono Lake. A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen at the DeChambeau Ponds off
of Mono Lake, the North Shore Cemetery Road, on the 5th, 7th and 9th
of August. It seemed to like the left most pond. (Michael Stevenson)

On Aug 12, (2) EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen at the beginning of the
driveway to 3131 Adobe Road, 1/4 to 1/2 mile north of T-intersection
with Frates Road, SE of town of Petamua. (Rick LeBaudour)
Monterey Co.

On Aug 12, a pelagic trip on Monterey Bay reported thousands of birds in
the bay with the highlight being a sub-adult SHORT-TAILED ALBATROSS with
a silver band on it's right leg. An ANCIENT MURRELET and female
HARLEQUIN DUCK were also in the harbor. (Debbie Shearwater)
