Shorebirds are starting to arrive, and the following were seen this last

also on Tuesday, were four WHITE-FACED IBIS (the adult Little Blue Heron has
not been seen here since August 2); at the harbor sandspit on Wednesday were
two WANDERING TATTLERS; at the Goleta Sewage Ponds on Wednesday were two
juvenile BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS [and one adult BAIRD'S]; at the Santa Maria

an unconfirmed adult Pectoral Sandpiper and four LESSER YELLOWLEGS; at Ocean

In Cuyama, ponds at the Cuyama Dairy yielded one juvenile SEMI-PALMATED
SANDPIPER and several TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS last weekend. You need
permission to bird here. Call Dan Hockstra, the manager, at (805) 839-8292.

Highlights from the Cachuma Lake boat trips this week included two adult and
one immature BALD EAGLE,

That is all the bird news for now, but, again, if you have a rare sighting
