This is the Chicago Audubon Society bird report for Thursday, December 22,
2005 at 10:30am.
Highlights of the December 18th Lisle-Arboretum Count include VIRGINIA
RAIL, three PEREGRINE FALCONS, six EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES, RUBY-CROWNED
KINGLET, GRAY CATBIRD, 74 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, 12 HERMIT THRUSHES, 9966
ROBINS, four RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, and LINCOLN'S, three SAVANNAH, and 37 FOX
SPARROWS.
Seen on the Fermilab Count on December 17th were seven BALD EAGLES, eight
CAROLINA WRENS, GRAY CATBIRD, 23 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, and RED CROSSBILL.
Two BLUEBIRDS were seen December 17th outside the Lake County Health
Department in Waukegan.
A MERLIN was seen December 18th at Acadia Cemetery in Chicago.
An ICELAND GULL was reported December 20th at Settler's Hill Landfill in
Geneva.
Seen this week in Glacial Park in McHenry were NORTHERN SHRIKE, a dark
phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, and three SHORT-EARED OWLS.
