EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS -

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, January 13.

The VARIED THRUSH that's been frequenting the area around the Vietnam
Memorial in the Fenway section of Boston was still there at least as
recently as
yesterday, and also seen in the area were a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET
and a FOX SPARROW.

Reports from Nantucket this week included 2 EURASIAN WIGEON, 1
BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, 1 BLACK-HEADED GULL, 500 BUFFLEHEAD,
13 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, 16 ICELAND GULLS, 1 EASTERN
PHOEBE, 1 BLUE-HEADED VIREO, and 12 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS,
in Sutton there was a TURKEY VULTURE, an EASTERN PHOEBE, and an
AMERICAN PIPIT, and miscellaneous reports this week have included a
BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, the EARED GREBE, and 2 BLACK-HEADED
GULLS in East Gloucester, a GLAUCOUS GULL in Gloucester Harbor, 2
KING EIDERS, 74 HARLEQUIN DUCKS, and 2 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS in
Rockport, a SNOWY OWL, 4 GRAY CATBIRDS, and a YELLOW-BREASTED
CHAT in Nahant, 13 REDHEADS at Fresh Pond in Cambridge, a MERLIN
and an EASTERN PHOEBE in Mattapan, a BARROW'S GOLDENEYE
and a BLACK-HEADED GULL in Barnstable, and 2 BALTIMORE
ORIOLES in Falmouth.
