On 1/22 on the Ohio River, 5 Pied-billed Grebes (MV).

On 1/25 near a backyard feeder, 1 COMMON REDPOLL was associating with
approximately 25 American Goldfinches (GM).

In East Liberty on 1/27, Eastern Towhee (DY).

In Fox Chapel on 1/27, 1 Pied-billed Grebe (DY).

In Etna on 1/28, sightings included 1 PEREGRINE FALCON (DY).

At the Imperial Grasslands on 1/28, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 2 NORTHERN HARRIERS
(MV).

At Moody Road on 1/28, 1 American Coot (MV).

At McKees Rocks on the Ohio River on 1/28, sightings included 1 Bufflehead,
1 American Coot, 19 Hooded Mergansers, 4 Pied-billed Grebes (MV).


Beaver County:

On 1/22 on the Beaver River, 9 Pied-billed Grebes (MV).

At the New Brighton boat launch on 1/26, 1 Mute Swan, 2 Wood Ducks, 2
American Coots (ER).


Butler County:

In Buffalo Township on 1/28, 8 Horned Larks (DY).


Crawford County:

>From last week: on 1/20 at Lake Pymatuning, sightings included several
Common Mergansers, 27 Hooded Mergansers, 50+ Common Goldeneyes; at Miller's
Ponds on 1/20, albino Red-tailed Hawk, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (IF).

In the Custards/Conneaut Lake/Linesville areas on 1/22, sightings included 3
American Black Ducks, 1 Lesser Scaup, many Common Goldeneyes, Hooded
Mergansers, Common Mergansers, 10 BALD EAGLES, 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS,
Ring-billed Gull, American Tree Sparrow, 1 Red-winged Blackbird (KSJ).

On 1/28 during the Winter Raptor Survey in eastern Crawford Co., 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, Horned Larks (LAR).


Erie County:

>From last week: on 1/19 at Presque Isle State Park, 1 ICELAND GULL (at
Niagra boat launch); on 1/20, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON (Gull Point) and 1 LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL (Beach 11) (JM).

On 1/25 at Presque Isle Bay, approximately 50,000--100,000 gulls
"whited-out" the bay, including a majority of Ring-billed Gulls, with nice
numbers of BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 2 adult LITTLE GULLS, 1 first-winter THAYER'S
GULL, 3 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, 2 first-winter GLAUCOUS GULLS (JM).


Greene County:

During the Winter Raptor Survey on 1/28, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (MHo).


Indiana County:

In Clarksburg on 1/28, sightings included 2 COMMON RAVENS, Eastern Towhee
(heard), American Tree Sparrows (MC).


Lawrence County:

On 1/22 in Plain Grove, the SANDHILL CRANES were still present (KSJ).

In a backyard on 1/26, 1 Fox Sparrow (LS).

In northeastern Lawrence Co. on 1/28, 2 NORTHERN HARRIERS (1 female and 1
immature), 1 Cooper's Hawk, 1 Red-shouldered Hawk, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK,
MERLIN, Barred Owl, RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, 9 Horned Larks, American Tree
Sparrow (LW, MHi, CG; and with MF, EF reporting the RLHA).


Somerset County:

In Fairhope on 1/27, 1 "OREGON" JUNCO was present with 7-8 "Slate-colored"
Dark-eyed Juncos at a feeder; this bird was also reportedly seen 4 times
last month (RO).


Venango County:

In northwestern Venango County on 1/22 during the Winter Raptor Survey,
sightings included 2 adult BALD EAGLES, 1 NORTHERN SHRIKE (RS).

On 1/25-26 in Oil City at a backyard feeder, 25 PINE SISKINS (RS).


Washington County:

On 1/23 in Robinson Township, 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS, 5 NORTHERN HARRIERS (3
were males); on 1/27, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 7 NORTHERN HARRIERS (2 were
male), 1 SHORT-EARED OWL (MV).

At Washington Cemetery on 1/28, sightings included 2 NORTHERN PINTAILS,
Red-breasted Nuthatches (MV).

At Washington Reservoir #4 on 1/28, 2 drake Common Mergansers, 14 American
Coots, 4 Mute Swans (MV).

At the Shaw Mine on 1/28, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (MV).

At the Beagle Club on 1/28, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER (MV).


Westmoreland County:

In Crabtree on 1/28, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON, Turkey Vulture (LH).
