This is the Western Voice of Audubon for Monday, February 20, 2006

An adult male BARROW’S GOLDENEYE was seen off River Road in Agawam on Sunday,
but was not found today.

Also seen in Agawam were 5 WOOD DUCKS, 6 COMMON GOLDENEYES, 20 COMMON and 10
HOODED MERGANSERS, a BALD EAGLE, a BELTED KINGFISHER, and 55 COMMON REDPOLLS.

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and 2 GLAUCOUS GULLS were noted at Turners Falls,
100 CEDAR WAXWINGS were in Athol, a group of about 75 TURKEY VULTURES were
seen over Greenfield, and 2 HORNED GREBES and 5 RING-NECKED DUCKS were at
south Quabbin.

Seen in Belchertown were 3 PILEATED WOODPECKERS, 3 BROWN CREEPERS, 2 EASTERN
BLUEBIRDS, and a HERMIT THRUSH.

A BLACK VULTURE was spotted over downtown Westfield and 2 HERMIT THRUSH, 2
EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, and a COMMON GRACKLE were in Hadley.

Seen in Amherst were 2 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS, a GREAT HORNED
OWL, 3 CAROLINA WRENS, 3 GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS, 2 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, a
HERMIT THRUSH, 2 COMMON REDPOLLS, and 2 PINE SISKINS.

Six COMMON REDPOLLS came to a feeder in Hampden, 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS were in
downtown Holyoke, and in West Springfield there were 3 HOODED and 6 COMMON
MERGANSERS, a BELTED KINGFISHER, and a BROWN CREEPER.

Found in Southwick were a SNOW GOOSE, 13 RING-NECKED DUCKS, a PIED-BILLED
GREBE, 100 AMERICAN ROBINS, 2 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, a
COMMON GRACKLE and a RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD.

A flock of 67 WILD TURKEYS was reported in Hawley, a BELTED KINGFISHER, 6
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, and 25 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were seen in Charlemont, and 4
COMMON REDPOLLS, 3 PINE SISKINS, and 40 EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported in Peru.
