In Clinton Township this week, sightings included American Coots,

On 3/1 in East Liberty, 1 Eastern Towhee (DY).

At Nine Mile Island on 3/1, 8 LESSER SCAUP, 1 drake Red-breasted Merganser (DY).

At Reid's Marina in Harmar on 3/1, 3 Hooded Mergansers (DY).

At Lock & Dam #3 on 3/1, 2 LESSER SCAUP (DY).

In Fox Chapel on 3/1, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 1 Turkey
Vulture; on 3/3, 3 Pied-billed Grebes, 4 Hooded Mergansers, 70 Ring-billed
Gulls (DY).

In Robinson Township on 3/1, 2 Turkey Vultures (SV).

In Etna on 3/2, 2 HORNED GREBES, 1 drake Common Goldeneye, 32 Ring-billed
Gulls, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON, 2 Buffleheads (DY).

In a small field in Munhall on 3/2, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER (MB).

At Brentwood area feeders this week, dozens of Red-winged Blackbirds are
visiting along with a few Common Grackles (BS).

In Blawnox on 3/3, 4 American Wigeons, 2 Turkey Vultures (DY).

In Harmar Township on 3/3, 2 HORNED GREBES (DY).

In Harrison Township on 3/3, 1 Common Goldeneye, 3 Red Breasted Mergansers,
21 Common Mergansers, 19 Hooded Mergansers, 1 BALD EAGLE, 130 Ring-billed
Gulls (DY).

On 3/4 at Dashield's Lock & Dam, 18 Turkey Vultures, 200 Ring-billed Gulls
(DY); on 3/5, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 3 Hooded Mergansers, Wood Duck, 4
Double-crested Cormorants, 27 Turkey Vultures (MV).

At the Toy Airport/Imperial Strips on 3/4, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER, 6 Killdeer
(DY); at the grasslands on 3/5, 3 Turkey Vultures, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER, 1

Field Sparrow, Ruffed Grouse, Great Horned Owl, AMERICAN WOODCOCK (GM).

At Montgomery Lock & Dam on 2/26, ~200 Ring-billed and Herring Gulls (GM);
on 3/5, 4 REDHEADS, 3 Red-breasted Mergansers, 35 Hooded Mergansers, 1
Pied-billed Grebe, 3 LESSER SCAUP, 14 Ring-necked Ducks, 2 Wood Ducks (MV).

Near Merrill's Landing on 2/26, 3 Common Mergansers (GM).

At Independence Marsh on 2/26, 3 drake American Wigeon (GM and MV), 40-50
Red-winged Blackbirds, 1 Killdeer, 1 singing Eastern Towhee (MV); on 3/3, 7
American Wigeons, 75 Red-winged Blackbirds, 10 Common Grackles; on 3/5, 10
American Wigeon (MV).

At Ambridge Reservoir this week, sightings included Ring-necked Ducks, 1
drake LONG-TAILED DUCK, Greater Scaup, LESSER SCAUP, Hooded Mergansers,
Red-breasted Merganser, GREEN-WINGED TEAL, American Wigeons, American Black
Ducks, Barred Owls (MV).

In Rochester on 3/3, 7 LESSER SCAUP, 5 REDHEADS, 1 American Wigeon, 8
American Black Ducks, 1 Ring-necked Duck, 5 Pied-billed Grebes, 3 American
Coots; on 3/5, 6 REDHEADS, 7 LESSER SCAUP, 1 Ring-necked Duck, 6 Hooded
Mergansers (MV).

In Beaver on 3/3, 15 Common Mergansers (MV).

At the mouth of Raccoon Creek on 3/3, 1 Double-crested Cormorant, 1 Common
Merganser (MV).

At the New Brighton Dam and Beaver Falls Dam on 3/5, 7 Ring-necked Ducks, 2
REDHEADS, 1 Greater Scaup (MV).


BUTLER COUNTY:

At Moraine State Park on 3/3, sightings included 290 Ring-necked Ducks, 4
American Coots, 50 Hooded Mergansers, 12 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Common
Mergansers, 3-4 BALD EAGLES, 40 American Black Ducks, 77 REDHEADS, 15 SCAUP
Sp., 23 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 26 American Wigeons, 2 GREEN-WINGED TEAL (SK); on
3/5, 200 Ring-necked Ducks, 1 CANVASBACK, 1 Ruddy Duck, 40 Hooded
Mergansers, 40 American Wigeon, 40 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 10 American Black

At Kahle Lake on 3/4, sightings included 12 REDHEADS, 6 American Wigeon, 12
Ring-necked Ducks, 1 Hooded Merganser, 1 Red-winged Blackbird (MB).


CRAWFORD COUNTY:

At Pymatuning Lake on 3/2, sightings included 9 Common Goldeneyes, 1
REDHEAD, 4 BALD EAGLES, 15 SNOW BUNTINGS, 2 light-phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS,
the albino Red-tailed Hawk, 3 CANVASBACKS (SK).

In Pymatuning area on 3/4, 8 Common Goldeneyes, 6 BALD EAGLES, 2 American
Wigeon, 4 Wood Ducks, 1 HERMIT THRUSH, 3 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, 4 Hooded
Mergansers, 1 American Coot, 12 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 8 Ring-necked Ducks (BV).

At Conneaut Lake on 3/2, 37 REDHEADS, 2 American Wigeon, 1 Ruddy Duck (SK);
on 3/4, 1 GADWALL, 6 REDHEADS, 1 American Coot (BV).

At Hartstown Wildlife Management area on 3/4, 2 Horned Larks, 1 NORTHERN
HARRIER (BV).

At Miller's Pond on 3/4, 2 American Black Ducks, 1 BALD EAGLE (BV).


ERIE COUNTY:

>From Last week: one or two LONG-TAILED DUCKS have been seen at the Bay near
Leo's Landing (JM).

At Presque Isle State Park on 3/3, 700 Common Goldeneyes, 325 CANVASBACKS,
15 REDHEADS, 250 SCAUP Sp., 25 Buffleheads, 350 Ring-necked Ducks, 20
American Coots, 6 Hooded Mergansers, 2 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 3 Mute Swans, 41
TUNDRA SWANS, 1 Common Grackle, 2 Red-winged Blackbirds, many AMERICAN TREE
SPARROWS, 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, 1 HERMIT THRUSH (SK).

At the east pier on 2/27, 1 ICELAND GULL (JM).

At the west pier on 2/27, 1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL (JM).

At Leo's Landing on 2/27, 1 GLAUCOUS GULL (JM).

At the Lake City water treatment plant through the week, 1 Eastern Phoebe (JM).

FAYETTE COUNTY:

At Jacob's Creek Reservoir on 3/5, 7 REDHEADS, 4 Common Mergansers, 7 Hooded
Mergansers, 23 American Wigeon, 1 Ring-necked Duck (LH).


FOREST COUNTY:

In Tionesta on 3/4, many Red-winged Blackbirds, PURPLE FINCH, PINE SISKIN,
Northern Flicker (FM).

At Buzzard Swamp on 3/5, BALD EAGLE, 1 dark-phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (FM).


GREENE COUNTY:

In a farm field on 3/1, 12 COMMON RAVENS (MHo).


INDIANA COUNTY:

On 2/27 at Yellow Creek State Park, 3 American Black Ducks, ~36 Ring-necked
Ducks, 8 LESSER SCAUP, 1 drake Bufflehead, 10 Hooded Mergansers, pair of
Common Mergansers, 1 Pied-billed Grebe, 2 Ruddy Ducks, 1 Loon sp. (TR).

The EURASIAN WIGEON was seen again at Yellow Creek State Park on 3/5
(reported to MHi by Lee Carnahan).

In Clarksburg on 3/2, sightings included Eastern Towhee, COMMON RAVEN,
Common Grackles; on 3/4, ~20 male Red-winged Blackbirds arrived (MC).


LAWRENCE COUNTY:

At the Volant Strips area on 3/4, 2 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 424 Ring-necked
Ducks, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 1 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 1 NORTHERN PINTAIL, 3
American Wigeon, 16 REDHEADS, 1 GADWALL (BV).

At the Atlantic States gravel pond on 3/5, sightings included 1 CANVASBACK,
1 LESSER SCAUP, 3 REDHEADS, 2 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 21 Ring-necked Ducks (MV).


VENANGO COUNTY:

On Buttermilk Hill on 3/5, 1 NORTHERN GOSHAWK, 1 NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL,
Turkey Vulture, Red-shouldered Hawk, 4 BALD EAGLES (JS).

At Kahle Lake on 3/5, 6 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 4 TUNDRA SWANS, 80 HORNED LARKS (JS).


WASHINGTON COUNTY:

In Peters Township through 2/26, 1 male BALTIMORE ORIOLE remains present at
a backyard feeding area (MV); this bird has been present sine 1/14/06.

In Robinson Township on 2/26, 1 drake Greater Scaup in a small unfrozen pond
(MV).

At the AMD pond on 2/27, 1 drake REDHEAD, 2 American Coots (MV).

At Canonsburg Lake on 2/27, 4 Hooded Mergansers (MV).


WESTMORELAND COUNTY:

In Crabtree on 2/26, 1 WILSON'S SNIPE, 2 drake Ring-necked Ducks, pair of
American Wigeons (TV).

At Loyalhanna Lake on 2/26, 4 Common Mergansers (TV).

In Stahlstown on 3/3, 3 flyover TUNDRA SWANS (LH).

At Donegal Lake on 3/3, 69 Ring-billed Gulls, 12 Hooded Mergansers, 7
REDHEADS, 1 HORNED GREBE; on 3/5, sightings included 7 Hooded Mergansers, 2
HORNED GREBES, 12 Ring-necked Ducks, 1 LESSER SCAUP, 3 Red-breasted
Mergansers (LH).

At Acme Dam on 3/5, 5 American Wigeon, 1 Hooded Merganser, ~500 Red-winged
Blackbirds, Turkey Vulture (LH).

At Latrobe Reservoir on 3/5, 7 American Black Ducks, 1 Hooded Merganser, 4
Ring-necked Ducks (LH).
