Today the first report of a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD migrating through our area at
Wingspan Park in Aliso Viejo.
Also today the continuing GRAY FLYCATCHER was at the ne corner of Santa Ana
Cemetery (part of the Fairhaven Memorial Park complex).
On Monday a YELLOW WARBLER reported on private property in Orange County,
possibly a wintering bird.
Last Sunday at Bolsa Chica Preserve a continuing PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was
spotted as well as 12 REDHEADS (between tide gates and nature center), and
one REDDISH EGRET. Today at the preserve three !! REDDISH EGRETS were seen.
Last Friday the continuing Reddish Egret was at the muth of the Santa Ana
River.
Last Friday at the mouth of San Juan Creek (Doheny State Beach, Dana Point)
an early ELEGANT TERN was noted and two BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were at the
nearshore rocky flats (low tide).
A dark race of the MERLIN was seen last week at Bartlett Park (Beach Blvd
and Adams).
