Highlights: WHITE-FACED IBIS, CATTLE EGRET, EURASIAN WIGEON,
LESSER YELLOWLEG, SLATY-BACKED GULL, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER,
YELLOW-SHAFTED FLICKER, SAGE THRASHER, GREATER ROADRUNNER,
MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD, BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER, GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE.

On Mar 8, (2) adult and (1) second cycle SLATY-BACKED GULL were seen
at Venice State Beach in Half Moon Bay. One of the adult birds was one
that was first seen in Jan. The other two birds may be "new" birds.

On Mar 7, the male YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER continued this morning in
Newhall Community Park in Concord. From Ygnacio Valley Road, go north on
Ayers, across from the Cal-State Eastbay campus. Take the 2nd left onto
Turtle Creek and park on the right in the first lot. Walk across the
soccer fields towards the bathrooms and Galindo Creek. Behind the
maintenance buildings to the left is a small flowering tree with an
excavation in front of it. The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was seen in
this tree about 10:15 this morning. (Jean Richmond)

On Mar 7, (56) GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were seen at various places, north
of Los Banos. The largest group was a total of 32 birds, seen at a feed
lot along Mercy Hot Springs Road, 1/2 mile from Henry Miller Road.
A drake EURASIAN WIGEON was seen along Santa Fe Grade, west of Hwy 165.
A LESSER YELLOWLEG was seen at the West Bear Creek Unit of the San Luis
NWR. A pure YELLOW-SHAFTED FLICKER and BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER
were seen at the Hatfield State Recreational Area. (110) CATTLE EGRETS
and (800) WHITE-FACED IBIS were in an alfalfa field along Henry Miller
Road, near Volta Wildlife Area. (Peter Metropulos)

On Mar 8, in the Panoche Hills Management Area, east of Mercy Hot
Springs, there were (10) SAGE THRASHERS, (9) MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS and
a GREATER ROADRUNNER.(Peter Metropulos)

On Mar 8, a CASSIN'S KINGBIRD was along Panoche Road, across from the
Panoche Inn Store. Another CASSIN'S KINGBIRD was in a tall cottonwood
