Welcome to the Birding Hotline for interior Alaska as of March 14, 2006.

An adult BALD EAGLE was seen perched in an upland birch forest
along Isberg Rd.near Ester on March 13 Another BALD EAGLE was
seen near mile post 322 on the Richardson Highway on March 4.

A BOREAL OWL was being mobbed by a BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE and
some GRAY JAYS at a residence at mile 14 Chena Hotsprings Road on
Saturday, March 11.

A BOREAL OWL was calling in the Cripple Creek area also on March 4.

Approximately 200 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen south of the
Chena River on Peger Road on February 26.


Upcoming events include:
Eggstravaganza! A Flint Hills Resources Family Fun with Birds
program will take place at the ABO Center for Education &
Research on March 14. Come learn why eggs are amazing through
on-going activities and displays. Listen to stories and decorate an
egg to take home. Drop in any time from 1 - 3 PM.

An Arctic Audubon Board Meeting will take place on Monday,
March 27 at 5:30 pm, in Room 300 of the Natural Science Facility
on the UAF campus. All members are welcome to attend.

The ABO Annual Meeting, Dessert Social, and Arctic Warbler
Seminar, will take place at 7 PM at the ABO Center for Education
& Research on March 30. Dr. Susan Sharbaugh, ABO's senior
biologist, will present "Arctic Warblers along the Denali Highway:
Two Seasons of Research Successes and Surprises."
