Highlights; DARK-RUMPED PETREL, BULLER'S SHEARWATER, BAIRD'S SANDPIPER,
XANTUS'S MURRELET, GRAY CATBIRD, AMERICAN REDSTART.
San Mateo Co.

On Aug 21, a hatch-year AMERICAN REDSTART was seen 100 yards upstream
from the bridge for public access across Pilarcitos Creek in Half Moon
Bay. A seawatch from Ocean Blvd in Moss Beach produced
(7) PARASITIC JAEGERS. On Aug 20, A seawatch from Pigeon Point produced
(11) BULLER'S SHEARWATERS and (2) male BLACK SCOTERS. There were (2)
BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS at Pesacedro Marsh and another (2) at Tunitas Creek.

On Aug 21, a report of a pelagic trip to the Cordell Bank from Bodega
Bay, highlights include a BLACK SKIMMER inside Bodega Harbor, a
DARK-RUMPED PETREL, 16.5 miles SSW of Bodega Head, and (2) scrippsi
XANTUS'S MURRELET. There were no SABINE'S GULL, only two each of the
smaller jaegers, and (1) SOUTH POLAR SKUA. (Rich Stallcup)

On Aug 21, there were (9) PURPLE MARTINS on the first set of snags past
the Bear Valley Visitor's Center at Pt Reyes National Seashore.

On Aug 21 an adult GRAY CATBIRD was in the town of Blue Lake. From Hwy 1,
take Hwy 299 to the town of Blue Lake. Take the second right hand turn
to Hatchery Road, cross the Mad River, just past the bridge park. There
is a trail which parallels the river, take the trail downstream or west
200-300 meters from the road. (Scott Carey)
