This is the Michigan Statewide Bird Report for Thursday, April 6th, 2006.

In KEWEENAW COUNTY on the morning of March 30th, a BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE* was
seen at the end of a driveway, along Seven Mile Point. It was last seen
moving west along the coast later on that day, but not relocated since.

In CASS COUNTY, the EURASIAN TREE SPARROW*, present since November 2005, was
seen as recently as April 2nd, 26149 M-60, outside Cassopolis.

In BERRIEN COUNTY, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED DOVES* continued to be seen, in the
Three Oaks village park, located at the corner of US-12 and Three Oaks Road.
Look for them in the Colorado Blue Spruce near the southwest corner of the
park. They have been singing quite often in recent days in various trees in
and around the park.

In WAYNE COUNTY, on April 4th, the Belle Isle NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was seen
in its “regular” tree.

In IOSCO COUNTY on April 1st, a SHORT-EARED OWL was seen at Tawas Point.

In CHIPPEWA COUNTY on March 30th, a juvenile gray-morph GYRFALCON was west
of Dafter on West 10 Mile Road, 1/2 mile west of South Touri Road, on the
south side in a field. It has not been seen since it flew off in a southwest
direction.

In ARENAC COUNTY, 7 GREATER WHITE FRONTED GEESE were seen on March 31st,
behind the Northport Marina which is about 2 miles East of the bridge in the
village of Au Gres.

In MUSKEGON COUNTY 1 SNOWY OWL and 1 GOLDEN EAGLE were seen at Muskegon
Wastewater System on Sunday, April 2nd. A 2nd, "different" SNOWY OWL was
seen on April 5th, along with 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS.
