Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A female BRAMBLING is now being seen in the Santa Clara section of Eugene.
It is mainly seen on the west side of 325 Spring Creek Drive. Spring Creek
is off the north end of River Road. On April 9 a male NORTHERN PARULA was
heard at Mt. Tabor Park in southeast Portland. It was well seen the next
day, but has not as yet been relocated. On April 8 a live HORNED PUFFIN was
just off the cove at the south end of Seaside. It has not been seen since.
On April 10 a COMMON MOORHEN was on the pond at Black Butte Ranch. It has
not been relocated.

YELLOW-RUMPED and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, PURPLE MARTINS and shorebirds
were the most obvious migrants during the week. BROWN PELICANS are now
moving along the coast.

On April 6 a late LAPLAND LONGSPUR was near Flores Lake in Curry County. The
next day a PALM WARBLER was near there. A singing BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLER was near Bandon April 8. On April 6 three LONG-BILLED CURLEWS were
at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River.

On April 9 a LONG-BILLED CURLEW was at the Sandy River Delta. The VESPER
SPARROW and MOCKINGBIRD are still being seen there. On April 9 a CASSINıS
VIREO was at Oaks Bottom in southeast Portland and a CASSINıS FINCH was at
Pittock Mansion in northwest Portland. A GOSHAWK was seen April 10 over
northwest Portland. BLACK-NECKED STILTS and LESSER YELLOWLEGS are now at
Fern Ridge Reservoir. A PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER was at the Delta Ponds in
Eugene. On April 7 a RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was on Skinners Butte in Eugene.
