This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for Thursday, April 13. Please

The LITTLE BLUE HERON in Marina del Rey was seen through April 12. The bird
has been along the canal near the intersection of Pacific and Voyage on the
north side of Ballona Creek.
A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at Malibu Lagoon on Sunday April 9, but was not
refound later.
A LAUGHING GULL was seen and photographed at the Ventura River mouth on
April 8.
At Hansen Dam near Sylmar, a COMMON POORWILL was found on April 10. The
bird was flushed below the willow forest near the dam.
Two BANK SWALLOWS and a BROWN PELICAN were at Castaic Lagoon below Castaic
Lake on April 11. The lagoon can be reached by taking the Lake Hughes Road
exit from the 5 Freeway.
Two PURPLE MARTINS were seen flying over Santa Clarita on April 10.
A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW continued west of the Nature Center at Eaton Canyon
in Pasadena on April 12. Eaton Canyon is off Altadena Drive, north of the
210 Freeway.
