This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Friday, August 26, 2005, sponsored by The Dayton Audubon
Society.
Reported from Aullwood Audubon Center on August 25th: TENNESSEE
WARBLER, CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, and AMERICAN REDSTART; and, at the
farm, a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER.
On August 25th at Englewood MetroPark, the following were observed:
LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, NORTHERN PARULA, and YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER.
A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was reported at Spring Valley WLA on August
14th. Also at Spring Valley WLA: GREEN HERON, CEDAR WAXWINGS, and
EASTERN BLUEBIRDS.
Shorebirds are being reported from Caesar Creek State Park and
Englewood MetroPark. As of August 25th, the conditions are good for
shorebirds.
OSPREY have been reported from various areas, including Spring Valley
WLA, Caesar Creek State Park, and the Great Miami River in downtown
Dayton.
