This is the Santa Barbara Audubon Society's rare bird report being recorded
on Friday, April 21 at noon. If you have a rare bird sighting to report,
call Karen Bridgers at 964-1316. For those of you who are getting the
transcript on the Internet, the rare bird alert number for Santa Barbara is
(805) 964-8240.

The FULVOUS WHISTLING-DUCK at the Goleta Sewage Plant has not been reported
since Tuesday the 11th. Note that the plant is closed on weekends.

A continuing male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen in Winchester Canyon on
Saturday the 15th, near Langlo and Wagon Wheel.

On Farren Road, also on Saturday, were RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWS, and BLUE
GROSBEAKS. This is also a good place to look and listen for Grasshopper
Sparrows.

Two WANDERING TATTLERS were on the rocks at Campus Point on the UCSB campus
on Wednesday. This is also a good place to look for Surfbirds.

A LEAST BITTERN was repeatedly calling at Lake Los Carneros on Wednesday
evening, just north of the footbridge.

Two ROSS'S GEESE continue at the pond at the Rancho Goleta Mobile Home Park,
off Ward Drive in Goleta.

A HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER and a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER were on Carpinteria
Creek last weekend, both downstream of the Carpinteria Avenue bridge.

Along the Fremont Trail from East Camino Cielo last weekend were MOUNTAIN
QUAIL, RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWS, and a good mix of migrating warblers.

At the Pino Alto campground on Figueroa Mountain, two EVENING GROSBEAKS were
present on Tuesday.

In Waller Park in Santa Maria, the PINE WARBLER was seen again on Tuesday,
near Area 3.

Two WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS continue in Old La Purisima Mission Park on the
south side of Lompoc. Look in the blackberry bushes in the southeast corner
of the park. Both birds were seen yesterday.

That is all the bird news for now, but, again, if you have a rare sighting
to report, call Karen Bridgers at 964-1316. Good birding in Santa Barbara
County.
