The following is a summary of the Georgia Rare Bird Alert (RBA) Saturday evening
telephone report, April 29, 2006. The RBA is a service of the Georgia Ornithological
Society. Jeff Sewell is the voice of the RBA.
Steve Slayton reported a possible LIMPKIN from the Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center
yesterday. He found it at the Campbell Aquatic Activity Center across from the
Discovery Pond area.

The SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER near Cornelia reported by Joan Thompson on April 25th
has not been seen again.
However, Larry Russell reported on 4/27 two SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHERS from the
powerline cut off of King Mill Rd. in McDonough in Henry Co. This is the fifth or
sixth year that these nesting birds have been reported from this location.

Dan Vickers reported a GLOSSY IBIS from the Floyd Creek Church Rd. marshy farm pond
on Friday, 4/28. It was not relocated on Saturday, however.

Seventeen species of warblers were reported on a somewhat slow day at Kennesaw
Mountain National Battlefield Park on Saturday, 4/29. A large group of GOS members
were part of a field trip to that location.
John McMahan reported 32 MISSISSIPPI KITES from the South Columbus Water Resource
Facility on Friday, 4/28.

Tom Striker reported a WHITE-WINGED DOVE from his store feeder in downtown Blue
Ridge, Fannin County on Thursday, 4/27.
