This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Tuesday, May 9, 2006, sponsored by The Dayton Audubon
Society.

Observed at Aullwood Gardens on May 7th: BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO, INDIGO
BUNTING, OVENBIRD, and RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD.

Reported from Englewood MetroPark on May 5th, SUMMER TANAGER and WOOD
THRUSH; on May 6th, an immature BALD EAGLE; and on May 7th, a
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK.

On May 8th, observed at Possum Creek MetroPark: ACADIAN FLYCATCHER,
MAGNOLIA WARBLER, OVENBIRD, and WILSON'S WARBLER.

The RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was observed at Spring Valley WLA on
May 5th.

There have been a number of PURPLE MARTINS reported around the
greater Dayton area.
