This is the Santa Barbara Audubon Society's rare bird report being recorded
on Friday, May 19 at 2:00.m. If you have a rare bird sighting to report,
call Karen Bridgers at 964-1316. For those of you who are getting the
transcript on the Internet, the rare bird alert number for Santa Barbara is
(805) 964-8240.

At Devereux Slough yesterday, a male NORTHERN PARULA WARBLER was singing
around the second pullout near the footbridge. That bird was still present
this morning and early afternoon, in the eucalyptus and cypress trees.

A male WOOD DUCK was at Lake Los Carneros this morning, in the southwest
corner near the dam.

A female YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was in the pond at the corner of Mesa and
Los Carneros Roads Wednesday, near the UCSB campus.

Along Sweeney Road in Lompoc, migrants last weekend included a
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, BLUE GROSBEAKS and a COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD.

TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS are nesting on the south side of Lompoc. Look on the
wires and in the blackberry bushes and adjacent fields in the southeast
corner of Old La Purisima Mission Park.

[At Lake Cachuma, a BROWN PELICAN was seen on Tuesday and 2 were seen on
Thursday. One adult BALD EAGLE and one OSPREY were seen on Wednesday.]

That is all the bird news for now, but, again, if you have a rare sighting
to report, call Karen Bridgers at 964-1316. Good birding in Santa Barbara
County.
