Weekend report from Nantucket included 1 BLACK VULTURE, 5 TURKEY
VULTURES, 2 CLAPPER RAILS, 11 ROSEATE TERNS, 35 COMMON
TERNS, and 2 BLACK TERNS, and seen in various outer Cape localities
between Chatham and Provincetown were 2 SURF SCOTERS, 6 BLACK
SCOTERS, 3 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 13 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS,
1 RED-NECKED GREBE, 2 GREATER SHEARWATERS, 35 SOOTY
SHEARWATERS, 3 WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS, 1250 NORTHERN
GANNETS, 12 OSPREYS, 3 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 85 BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVERS, 20 AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS, 1 WHIMBREL, 7 RED
KNOTS, 11 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 1 PARASITIC JAEGER,
roughly 500 LAUGHING GULLS, 1 ROYAL TERN in Provincetown,
roughly 6000 COMMON TERNS, 5 BLACK TERNS, 1 BLACK SKIMMER,
3 BROWN THRASHERS, 70 CEDAR WAXWINGS, 32 PINE WARBLERS,
18 EASTERN TOWHEES, 1 ORCHARD ORIOLE, and 20 BALTIMORE
ORIOLES.

On a boat trip from Plymouth to points east of Cape Cod, south to the waters
east of Chatham highlights include 80 GREATER SHEARWATERS, 750
SOOTY SHEARWATERS, 8 MANX SHEARWATERS, 300 WILSON'S
STORM-PETRELS, 700 NORTHERN GANNETS, 11 PARASITIC JAEGERS,
2 LONG-TAILED JAEGERS, roughly 100 LAUGHING GULLS, 1 LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL, 300 COMMON TERNS, and 2 BLACK TERNS.

Weekend reports from Plum Island included 2 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 1
GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 1 PIED-BILLED GREBE, 1 MANX SHEAR-
WATER, 2 SORAS, 1 CLAPPER RAIL, 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 3
WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 3 ROSEATE TERNS, 2 ARCTIC TERNS, 25
unidentified Common/Arctic-type terns, 1 BLACK GUILLEMOT, 1 ALDER
FLYCATCHER, 1 HOUSE WREN, 25 SALTMARSH SHARP-TAILED
SPARROWS, and 2 SEASIDE SPARROWS, and on Saturday in the rain, a
breeding bird survey at the Oxbow refuge in parts of Ayer, Shirley, and
Harvard yielded 1 AMERICAN WOODCOCK, 7 WILD TURKEYS, 1
BARRED OWL, 1 SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, 1 BLACK-BILLED
CUCKOO, 11 HAIRY WOODPECKERS, 5 EASTERN WOOD-PEWEES,
1 WILLOW FLYCATCHER, 5 BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, 2
NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, 11 VEERYS, 1 YELLOW-
THROATED VIREO, 4 SCARLET TANAGERS, 2 INDIGO BUNTINGS,
4 EASTERN TOWHEES, 12 BALTIMORE ORIOLES, 1 ORCHARD
ORIOLE, and 2 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS.

Miscellaneous reports from the weekend included a BLACKPOLL
WARBLER in Newbury, a late RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET in
Rockport, 2 ORCHARD ORIOLES in Danvers, a MOURNING WARBLER
in Somerville, an OSPREY and a WILLOW FLYCATCHER at the Great
Meadows Refuge in Concord, and 1 BLACK-BILLED and 1 YELLOW-
BILLED CUCKOO at Cold Spring Park in Newton.
