Welcome to the Birding Hotline for interior Alaska as of June 12, 2006.
The first ARCTIC WARBLER of the year was sighted on the
Denali Highway on June 8.
The following birds were seen along the Denali Highway on June 7:
A SHORT-EARED OWL at mile 13, a BLACK-BACKED
WOODPECKER at mile 23, and a GYRFALCON at mile 36.
A TENNESSEE WARBLER was singing on Standard Creek Rd.
off of the Old Nenana Highway near the railroad tracks on June 6.
Four RED PHALAROPES, 2 RUDDY TURNSTONES, & a
SHORT-EARED OWL were at the Airport float ponds on June 5.
