This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for Thursday, September 1. Please

A BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE were seen along the San
Gabriel River between Whittier and Washington Blvd. on August 28. This
section of the river can be birded from the bike trail accessed at Whittier
Blvd., Washington Blvd., or at the west end of Dunlap Crossing.

A STILT SANDPIPER was observed along the LA River through August 31. This
bird has been below the Del Amo Street crossing between the 405 Freeway and
the MetroLink bridge. In the same area was a PECTORAL SANDPIPER.

A BAIRD'S SANDPIPER was south of Wardlow on August 31 and several BAIRD'S
SANDPIPERS have been present in the area for much of the past week.

Two LUCY'S WARBLERS were seen at Sand Dune Park in Manhattan Beach on August
28 and 29.
