This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Friday, June 30th, 2006.



A first-summer plumaged BLACK-HEADED GULL was seen at Hampton Beach on June 25th.



23 SNOWY EGRETS were reported from Little River Marsh in North Hampton, and 3
LAUGHING GULLS were seen along the coast, all on June 25th.



A WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, 25 WILSON'S STORM PETRELS, a BLACK GUILLEMONT, 17 BONAPARTE'S
GULLS, and 74 COMMON EIDERS were reported from Great Boar's Head in Hampton on June
25th.



8 PIED-BILLED GREBES, 3 GREEN HERONS, an ORCHARD ORIOLE, 4 PRAIRIE WARBLERS, and 3
WILLOW FLYCATCHERS were all seen at the Brentwood Mitigation Area in Brentwood on
June 25th.



An AMERICAN BITTERN was seen at Cascade Marsh in Sutton on June 27th.



2 VIRGINIA RAILS, a SORA, a GREEN HERON, and an ALDER FLYCATCHER were reported from
marshlands along Beaver Brook in Hollis on June 25th.



15 AMERICAN PIPITS, and a BICKNELL'S THRUSH were reported from Mount Washington on
June 25th.



3 FISH CROWS were seen in Durham on June 28th.



Also of note were a large number of SHEARWATERS and STORM-PETRELS reported offshore
from a whale-watching trip to Stellwagen Bank out of Newburyport, Massachusetts on
June 28th.
