Species mentioned:
LIMPKIN*
Common Raven
(* is considered a Review List Species by the Records Committee)

The LIMPKIN continues at the Clayton County Water Authority in Clayton County at
Lake Blalock. It was discovered by Carol Lambert on Thursday and was seen again
Friday, and is still there this morning. This is probably the same LIMPKIN that
was seen there two years ago. It is frequenting the same area as before. Here
are directions to Lake Blalock which is located on the Henry/Clayton County line.
From downtown Atlanta take I-75 and exit at Tara Boulevard (Griffin/Jonesboro, Hwy
19 and 41). Go about 8.2 miles to Freeman Road which is on the left. Take
Freeman Road and go about two miles. As you descend the hill you will see
Shamrock Road on the left. Turn left on Shamrock Road. There is a big sign there
that says "Community Use Building." Go to the gate house and past the Community
Use Building. Go down the hill and that will take you to Lake Blalock. As you
descend the hill, Pate's Creek is off to the right. There is a bridge going
across the creek and the
LIMPKIN has been seen feeding on Asiatic clams here. Birders have permission to
stay up to an hour without having to pay the $5 parking fee.

Dan Vickers called from Brasstown Bald to report 2 COMMON RAVENS. The birds were
seen flying over the lower parking lot. Brasstown Bald State Park is located on
the Union/Towns County line near Blairsville. This is one of the best places to
look for ravens in Georgia although it might take several trips to the area before
you see one.

This concludes the report.
