Highlights: YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, LITTLE BLUE HERON, HORNED PUFFIN,
HOODED WARBLER.
Mendocino Co.

On Jul 9, a second-summer HORNED PUFFIN at the Murre Colony at
the Mendocino Headlands. It was seen sitting on the water, just off the
northern-most rock at the north parking lot.

Alameda Co.

On Jul 8, a YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen briefly on the dock
to the Scott's Restaurant in the Alameda Estuary. A LEAST TERN
was also seen. (Rick Hallway)
San Mateo Co.

On Jul 10, a LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen from Norfolk Street near the
Marina Library by Marina Lagoon. It was seen flying high above
the lagoon towards the SE. (Al DeMartini)
Sonoma Co.

On Jul 10, the HOODED WARBLER continues at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa,
near its usual spot. The bird was on the west side of the lake on the
gravel and dirt trail that runs between the boat launch parking lot
and the north end of the lake trial. The bird is in an area with a
side dirt trail that is closer to the lake and has a garbage can
and memorial bench with the name "Raymond Jordan" on it, next to
a stagnant pond. (Matt Brady)
