Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On July 11 a male AMERICAN BLACK DUCK was seen from the Hwy 22 overlook at
Baskett Slough NWR. Aon July 12 a bright male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK visited
a feeder near Linnton in Northwest Portland.

There are now a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE and five RINGED TURTLE-DOVES (now
called AFRICAN COLLARED-DOVES) in Brookings. A singing GOLDEN-CROWNED
SPARROW is now on territory on Cascade Head, north of Lincoln City. It
appears not to have a mate.

A COMMON NIGHTHAWK nest was found July 10 at the EE Wilson SWA north of
Corvallis. On July 9 a singing RED-EYED VIREO was seen there. A singing
RED-EYED VIREO was seen July 11 at Big Island near Springfield.

On July 6 a singing NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was at the southeast corner of Lost
Lake in Santiam Pass. Calling SWAINSON¹S THRUSHES were heard July 9 at
Shevlin Park near Bend.
