BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON

Sunday, July 16
RARE BIRD ALERT: An adult BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON flew over the 'Bedrock'
property at 4655 Kerryview Drive in the Prospect Lake area this morning. The
bird has not been relocated since, but could still be in the general area.
A MERLIN was over Royal Roads University in Colwood.

Saturday, July 15
No reports.

Friday, July 14
RARE BIRD ALERT: A possible WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was on the west side of
Esquimalt Lagoon at Royal Roads University, just south of the boathouse. It
could not be relocated later in the day.
18 BROWN PELICANS were at the Carmanah Point Lightstation about 35 km
southeast of Bamfield on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Thursday, July 13
No reports.

Wednesday, July 12
There were 3 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS at Whiffin Spit in Sooke.
A female WOOD DUCK with 2 young was at Blenkinsop Lake as was an adult male
PURPLE MARTIN.
A male BLUE-WINGED TEAL continues at Rithet's Bog off Chatterton Way in
Saanich.

Tuesday, July 11
A PEREGRINE FALCON was over Atkins Avenue in Langford.

Monday, July 10
3 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER and 10 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER were among other
shorebirds on Chatham and Discovery Islands off Oak Bay.
4 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS were also at Witty's Lagoon Regional Park in
Metchosin.
A GREEN HERON was at Art Mann Park at Quamichan Lake in Duncan.
A PEREGRINE FALCON was perched on the Beckley Manor on Dallas Road in James
Bay, and another was at Albert Head Lagoon Regional Park in Metchosin.
