This is the Voice of Audubon for Monday, July 24.

The BLACK-TAILED GODWIT that was discovered at the Parker River
Refuge at Plum Island last Monday was still present there today. It has been
seen daily, most reliably in the saltmarsh just off the main refuge road,
immediately south of parking lot 3. Other recent reports from the island have
included an out-of-season BRANT, 5 MANX SHEARWATERS, 7 WILSON'S
STORM-PETRELS, 60 NORTHERN GANNETS, 1 LEAST BITTERN, 2
LITTLE BLUE HERONS, 1 TRICOLORED HERON, 1 MERLIN, 1
PEREGRINE FALCON, 260 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 55 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, 250 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 137 WILLETS, 3
WHIMBREL, 4 RED KNOTS, 1700 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS,
140 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 1 WESTERN SANDPIPER, 1 WHITE-RUMPED
SANDPIPER, 1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 1 STILT SANDPIPER, 855
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 9
ROSEATE TERNS, 160 COMMON TERNS, 2 BLACK TERNS, 2
ATLANTIC PUFFINS, 12 PURPLE MARTINS, 15 MARSH WRENS,
15 BROWN THRASHERS, 1 PRAIRIE WARBLER, 40 SALTMARSH
SHARP-TAILED SPARROWS, 1 ORCHARD ORIOLE, 5 BALTIMORE
ORIOLES, and 9 PURPLE FINCHES.

A SANDWICH TERN was still present over the weekend at Race Point
in Provincetown where several thousand COMMON TERNS, 1 FORSTER'S
TERN, and 2 BLACK TERNS were also present.

A report from Bolton Flats included 17 KILLDEER, 3 SOLITARY SAND-
PIPERS, 23 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 1 VIRGINIA RAIL, 11 WILLOW
FLYCATCHERS, 1 ALDER FLYCATCHER, 3 MARSH WRENS, 50
BANK SWALLOWS, 3 YELLOW-THROATED VIREOS, 1 LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSH, and 6 INDIGO BUNTINGS, and seen or heard at the
Great Meadows Refuge in Concord were 94 WOOD DUCKS, 59 GREAT BLUE
HERONS, 3 GREAT EGRETS, 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS,
2 VIRGINIA RAILS, 2 SORAS, 1 AMERICAN COOT, 4 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS, 12 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS,
10 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 38 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 9 SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPERS, 1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 6 SHORT-BILLED
DOWITCHERS, 2 WILLOW FLYCATCHERS, and 11 MARSH WRENS.

Recent reports from Stellwagen Bank have included roughly 1000 GREATER
SHEARWATERS, 1 CORY'S SHEARWATERS, 400 SOOTY SHEAR-
WATERS, 15 MANX SHEARWATERS, 1000 WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS,
2 unidentified skuas, 1 PARASITIC JAEGER, 4 POMARINE JAEGERS, and
1 SABINE'S GULL, and miscellaneous reports have included 2 STILT SAND-
PIPERS, 117 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, and 3 SALTMARSH SHARP-
TAILED SPARROWS at Belle Isle Marsh in East Boston, 2-300
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS and 25 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS
in the Squantum section of Quincy, a BLACK TERN in Plymouth, and a
CASPIAN TERN at Ellis Landing in Brewster.
