This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for Thursday, July 27, 2006. Please

An adult male RING-NECKED DUCK, rare in summer, was at the Santa Clara River
Estuary in Ventura on July 25.

Also present at the estuary were a REDDISH EGRET and a SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPER on July 26.

On July 23, an adult SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER was along the LA River in Long
Beach. The location was just below the Del Amo crossing. On July 25 the
bird was seen north of Del Amo. Another individual was reported at the
Willow Street crossing on July 24.

An adult STILT SANDPIPER was along the LA River on July 25. The bird was
discovered just north of the 405 Freeway and later was seen south of
Wardlow. It was refound north of Willow Street later in the day.
