species in central and southern Alberta since mid-July. The most recent

when Dwight Knapik observed it there; while a pair of GREAT EGRETS have
been at Hastings Lake, east of Tofield, since July 14, at least.

Four HUSDONIAN GODWITS were seen near Irricana on Tuesday, Aug 1. The
birds were seen by Bill Wilson at the large slough on TwpRd 273, approx
1 km east of Hwy 9. The same day, Reid Barclay observed 20 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS at the slough. The adult TRUMPETER SWAN that has been at
McElroy Slough the last half of July was still there on Tuesday, Aug 1,
when it was observed by Bill Wilson. McElroy Slough is off Inverlake Rd
off Hwy 1 at the north end of Chestermere Lake.

An AMERICAN DIPPER was at a very unusual location this week for this
time of year. It was at the south end of the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
in Calgary, where it was seen by various people. Gus Yaki and Aileen
Pelzer observed an immature YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER at Pearce Estate in
Calgary on Thursday, July 27. Terry Korolyk reported a small flock of
migrant RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES was foraging in the NW corner of
Glenmore Reservoir in Calgary on Friday, July 28, while warblers
reported in IBS this week included a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, 4 TENNESSEE
WARBLERS and 12 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS.

Jody Allair reported flocks of 12 and 9 RED CROSSBILLS were well east on
the prairie on Monday, July 31, when they were flying westward into
stiff winds at Little Fish Lake, east of Drumheller.
