Sightings for August 11

On August 10 a female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was found along Lakeshore Road
in Okanagan Mountain Park, S. of Kelowna (CC). The bird was feeding in some
burned trees along the left side of the road 200 meters beyond the big black
radio tower on the left (S) side of the road.

As of August 9, the TRUMPETER SWAN continues at Vaseux Lake (RC).

In Salmon Arm an AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN and 3 PEREGRINE FALCONS were present
along the foreshore on August 10 (DC).

On August 9 an adult MEW GULL was in the McDonald's parking lot at Hwy 33
and Hollywood Road in Rutland (CC).


Sightings for July 16

A female CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was found this evening along the railroad
tracks behind Scandia Golf and Games along Hwy 97 in N. Kelowna (CC). Park
near the tracks and walk N. about 200 meters to the first grove of large
cottonwoods on the right hand side of the tracks. The bird was present for
most of the evening in the area quite close to the tracks.
