Directions from: Louis Libert
Here are some directions again if you need them. Take 80 to the
University exit in Berkeley. You'll want to go west on University
towards the water. Turn right onto Marina which curves to the left and
turns into Spinnaker. Drive west on Spinnaker to the end and park. Walk to
the bay and turn south on the paved trail and just before you
reach the mouth of the marina there is a sign that says OCSC sailing.
Behind the sign and the bushes is a large fire pit with brush in it.
San Mateo Co.
-------------
On Sept 10, the BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER continues at the mouth of
Pilarcitos Creek in Half Moon Bay. The Semipalmated Sandpiper was not
seen. Access is by Wave Ave, just south of Venice Blvd. Take the trail
straight out towards the ocean, to the bluff. Keep to the SW corner of
the parking lot. Take the trail to your left to the creek. Wave Ave is
off the frontage road along Hwy 1 and doesn't intersect Hwy 1.
If heading south on Hwy 1, take the first right hand turn after Venice
Blvd, follow to next right hand which is Wave Ave. (Steve Glover)
On Sept 10, the VESPER SPARROW continues at Coyote Point. It was first
spotted by Ron Thorn. It was in the yellow-flowering bushes along the
east/bay side of the trail between the two park benches, the first of
which has a sign on it: "In Memory of Elmo Adams 1903-1999".
