Along the Los Angeles River in Long Beach, two BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS and a
PECTORAL SANDPIPER were between the MetroLink crossing and the Wardlow
Street bridge on September 2.
Other PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were seen near the Willow Street crossing in Long
Beach through September 7 and just south of the Burbank crossing in Van Nuys
on September 3. Another PECTORAL was above the bridge at the Santa Clara
River Estuary in Ventura on September 4.
Two WHITE-WINGED DOVES were at the South Coast Botanic Garden on the Palos
Verdes Penninsula on September 4.
On September 3, a VIRGINIA'S WARBLER was at Ballona Lagoon in Playa del Rey.
The bird was on the south side of Voyager where it meets with Pacific.
An OVENBIRD was seen briefly at Zuma Creek mouth near Malibu on September 3.
A HOODED WARBLER was reported from Descanso Gardens on September 3. The
bird was a female and was seen at the start of the Chaparral Trail.
