To get to Henderson Park; on a map locate the intersection of Lavista Road
and Chamblee Tucker Rd at Tucker High School in Parker. Go north on
Chamblee Tucker Rd. to Livsey Drive on the left and take it to Henderson
Park. Turn left into the park and go past and behind the soccer field and
you'll see a line of Mimosa trees. This is where most of these birds have
been seen. You can continue to the lake and the parking lot and go right to
the dam and check the mimosas there as well. Look to the other end of the
lake and you'll see a marshy area. You can get there by going across the
dam and turn left and follow the left or you can go back to the trailhead at
the parking lot near the playground and go around. It can be steep and
slick in places so be careful.
At Kennesaw Mountain this morning they only had 8 species of warblers on a
very windy day. Also seen were Gray-cheecked Thrush, Rose-breasted Grosbeak
and tanagers.
