Highlights: MANX SHEARWATER, RUFF, PECTORAL SANDPIPER, BAIRD'S SANDPIPER,
WHITE-WINGED DOVE, BARRED OWL, SHORT-EARED OWL, PRAIRIE WARBLER,
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, KENTUCKY WARBLER,
AMERICAN REDSTART, NORTHERN PARULA, YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER,
TENNESSEE WARBLER, MAGNOLIA WARBLER,BREWER'S SPARROW,
SWAMP SPARROW, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, LAPLAND LONGSPUR, BOBOLINK.

Marin Co.
---------
On Sept 23, a BOBOLINK was seen at parking lot at Abbott's Lagoon. At
Limantour, (2) PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were at the mouth of Drake's Estero.
At Pt Reyes, a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, BREWER'S SPARROW, and
SWAINSON'S THRUSH were seen at the Lighthouse. A HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER,
BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD and LAPLAND LONGSPUR were at the Fish Docks.
The YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER continues at the Nunes Ranch, while a
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in the fennel across the road, and a
SWAMP SPARROW was at the bottom, near the wet spot. A WHITE-WINGED DOVE
was across the road in a wet spot from Mendoza Ranch. An
AMERICAN REDSTART was at Drake's Beach. (Ryan Terrill)

On Sept 21-23, (3) BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS were at Abbott's Lagoon. SOOTY,
PINK-FOOTED and BULLER'S SHEARWATER, plus PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen
from Abbott's Beach. A VARIED THRUSH was at the Lighthouse at Pt Reyes.

On Sept 22, a TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen near the Lighthouse at
Pt Reyes National Seashore. (Mary and John Westlake)

On Sept 22, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER and PRAIRIE WARBLER were seen
at the "Fish Docks" at Pt Reyes National Seashore. A PRAIRIE FALCON
was seen over the Nunes Ranch. (Dorothy Tobkin)

On Sept 22, a pelagic trip on Monterey Bay reported
(1) FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER, (1600) PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER,
(225) BULLER'S SHEARWATER, (8100) SOOTY SHEARWATER,
(2) SOUTH POLAR SKUA, (11) POMARINE JAEGER, and (5) PARASITIC JAEGER.

San Mateo Co.

On Sept 23, a sea watch from Bolsa Point (1 mile north of Pigeon Point)
reported (1) MANX SHEARWATER, (11) PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER,
(614) BULLER'S SHEARWATER, (1000) SOOTY SHEARWATER, (7) POMARINE JAEGER,
(3) PARASITIC JAEGER, and (10) RHINOCEROS AUKLET. (Ron Thorn)

On Sept 22, a sea watch from just south of the parking lot at
Pescadero Creek reported (70) BULLER'S SHEARWATER, a few SOOTY
SHEARWATER, (1) NORTHERN FULMAR, many RED PHALAROPES and RED-NECKED
PHALAROPES, (1) PARASITIC JAEGER and (1) MANX SHEARWATER.

On Sept 23, a MAGNOLIA WARBLER was seen at the Hole-in-the Head at
Bodega Bay, near the pond. (2) SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen from Bayhill
Road above Bodega Bay. (David Hoffmann)

San Francisco Co.

On Sept 22, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was in the willows near the
composting yard off of Battery Caulfield Road in the Presidio, access by
15th Ave and Lake Street. (Matt Zlatunich)

Santa Clara Co.
---------------
On Sept 23, the NORTHERN PARULA appeared in its favored ash (?)
tree, about 100 yards south of the La Avenida trailhead along the dirt
path between the Stevens Creek Trail and the creek itself. It foraged
there and in adjacent trees until 7:04 am, when I saw it fly out,
apparently heading for an isolated deciduous tree that's 50 or so yards
further south, in the vegetated strip between the creek and the trail
on the levee. (Dave Quady)

On Sept 22, a RUFF was seen along the railroad tracks at the Alviso
Environmental Education Center. The bird was seen about 100 yards west
down the railroad tracks, 30 feet from the right hand side.

On Sept 22, a BREWER'S SPARROW was seen near the bridge at Lagoon
Valley. This bridge is near the Pena Adobe Historic site. (Calvin Lou)

Mendocino Co.

On Sept 22, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER and CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER were seen at
Usal Campground on the Lost Coast. ON Sept 22-23 a KENTUCKY WARBER was
seen Chadburn Gulch, a few miles north of Ten Mile River on
the Mendocino Coast, MP 75.43, south of Westport. (Jerry White)
