Highlights: FRANKLIN'S GULL, CASSIN'S KINGBIRD, RED-EYED VIREO,
GRAY CATBIRD, PALM WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTART, OVENBIRD,
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, VIRGINIA'S WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER,
BLACKPOLL WARBLER, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER,
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER,
BLACK-THROATED-BLUE WARBLER, PRAIRIE WARBLER, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK,
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, SAGE SPARROW, VESPER SPARROW,
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD.

Marin Co.

On Sept 28, at Pt Reyes National Seashore, 19 species of warblers
were seen, at the Nunes Ranch had YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER,
(2) MAGNOLIA WARBLER, PRAIRIE WARBLER, PALM WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER.
A RED-EYED VIREO and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were seen across the road
from the Nunes Ranch. A female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen in the
grassy field at the bottom of cypress grove at the Nunes Ranch.
A BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER and (2) BLACKPOLL WARBLER were seen at
the Mendoza Ranch. A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, OVENBIRD and
a male BLACK-THROATED-BLUE WARBLER (not found after initial sighting,
just disappeared) were at the Lighthouse trees. An AMERICAN REDSTART
and BLACKPOLL WARBLER were seen at the Fish Docks.

San Francisco Co.

On Sept 28, the VIRGINIA'S WARBLER was refound along the Vista Grande
Canal at MH2, south end of Lake Merced. (Mark Eaton)

On Sept 28, a TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen at the SW corner of Middle Lake
in Golden Gate Park. A TENNESSEE WARBLER and BLACKPOLL WARBLER were
seen at Sutro Heights Park. The birds were seen mainly around
48th Ave and Anza. (David Armstrong)

On Sept 28, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was seen along the path on
the east side on Mountain Lake in the Presidio. This is north of the

On Sept 27, the GRAY CATBIRD was seen again at Middle Lake in Golden
Gate Park by Dan Murphy (David Armstrong)

San Mateo Co.

On Sept 28, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen in the sweet fennel near the
pump house by the pond which is located behind the Nob Hill Market
in Redwood Shores.

San Benito Co.

On Sept 27, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was near the willow tree to the shrubs
at the edge of the dirt parking lot of Pacines Reservoir.
BALD EAGLE and PRAIRIE FALCON were also present. YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS
were on Panoche Road by a gate with the mailbox #9331 near MM 8.74.
A flock of (5) CHIPPING SPARROWS were at MM 25. On Norton which is
also a dirt road, a SAGE SPARROW of the interior race and
(2) CASSIN'S KINGBIRD was found. A VESPER SPARROW on Panoche Road near
Silver Creek Ranch. (Debbie Shearwater)

Sonoma Co.

On Sept 27, a MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER and PALM WARBLER were
in the trees at Campbell Cove. An adult WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was
below the trees in the NW corner. VAUX'S SWIFT and a dark MERLIN were
in the general area. A TENNESSEE WARBLER was in the tree across the
harbor by the sewage treatment plant. And on the east side of
Hwy 1, by the Bird Walk, there was a flock of (15) TOWNSEND'S WARBLER
and a HERMIT WARBLER. (Dan Nelson)

Santa Clara Co.

On Sept 26, a FRANKLIN'S GULL, first found Sept. 19 by Peggy
Don and intermittently since then, continues at the Sunnyvale Water
Pollution Control Plant. It was present and cooperative this
afternoon from 4:20 to 5:00 PM. The Plant is reached by taking
Borregas north from Caribbean Drive. Borregas soon ends at a "T";
turn left, park in the public access area at the end of the plant.
Continue across the channel and walk out to the vicinity of a (very
visible) radar tower. You will see large ponds to the left and right
of the path, and a channel between them. The Franklin's Gull has most
often been found along that channel and its levees.

Sonoma Co.

On Sept 28, a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was with yellow and yellow-rumps in
the fennel, 50 feet north of the Bodega Bay Marine Lab residence
entrance. The WHITE-THROATED SPARRPW continues behind the pond in
the NW corner of Campbell Cove. (2) Black-throated Gray Warblers and
Townsend's Warblers were scattered about. And the dark MERLIN continues
to harass birds about. (Dan Nelson)
