Highlights: BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, LEAST FLYCATCHER, PHILADELPHIA VIREO,
RED-THROATED PIPIT, TENNESSEE WARBLER, BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER,
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, CANADA WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER,
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, BLACKPOLL WARBLER,
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE,
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, BREWER'S SPARROW.
San Francisco Co.

On Sept 29, a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was in bushes at the western
entrance to the grassy glade on the southwestern side of Middle Lake
in Golden Gate Park. The GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was seen once around
12:30 near the intersection to the glade. THE TENNESSEE WARBLER was
seen three times along different points of the south shore.

On Sept 29, at the Phipp's Ranch in the town of Pescadero, a
CANADA WARBLER and TENNESSEE WARBLER were found at the wild garden
along Pescadero Creek. Behind Duarte's Tavern, a flock along
Pescadero Creek had a BLACKPOLL WARBLER. Walking upstream,
a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER and a young female NORTHERN PARULA
were found. At the end of Water Lane, as you entered Pescadero Creek
just on the upstream end of the grove of Eucalyptus Trees,
a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was flushed from the creek to the low
scrubs along the creek. (Ron Thorn)

On Sept 29, a great day of pelagic bird-watching on Monterey Bay,
highlights included thousands of shearwater with
(3) FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER, and good numbers of SOUTH POLAR SKUA and
POMARINE JAEGERS. (Debbie Shearwater)

On Sept 29, Pt Reyes continued to be very birdy with 17 species of
warblers, including a PHILADELPHIA VIREO, (2) CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS,
a BREWER'S SPARROW, a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, LEAST FLYCATCHER,
an immature ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, a fly-over RED-THROATED PIPIT, and
6-10 MERLINS. The birdest places in descending order, the Nunes Ranch
("A" Ranch) which had the continuing YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, the
Mendoza Ranch ("B" Ranch) had (3) BLACKPOLL WARBLERS and the
BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, the Lighthouse, and finally the Fish Docks.
A phone call from Len Blumin, had a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER working the
mud and sand of South Pond, mainly on the north side of the pond, which
is on your left as you walk to the ocean at Abbott's Lagoon.
A Note about access: the road to the Fish Docks will be closed
Oct 2 to 6, and the house at the Fish Docks is unoccupied now.

On Sept 29, at Bodega Harbor, the Bodega Bay Marine Laboratory trees
had a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, PRAIRIE WARBLER and
(4) BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER. At least ten BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER
were scattered at various locations around the bay form a new high count.
A CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was in the trees near the restroom at Campbell
Cove. A HERMIT WARBLER was along Chaney Creek. And yesterday,
(19) GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were seen over the harbor.
