The RUFF was still present just north of the Willow crossing on the lower LA
River on October 1.
A PARASITIC JAEGER has practically taken up residence at Cabrillo Beach in
San Pedro. Two birds were seen here on September 30 and one remained on the
beach through October 4.
A VIRGINIA'S WARBLER was at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area on October 3.
The bird was just across from the Audubon Native Plant Garden. The park
is located at 4100 South La Cienega in Baldwin Hills.
A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was at the Village Green Condominiums in Los Angeles on
October 3 and 4. The bird seen in the flowering tree behind unit 5119. The
condominiums are located at the southwest corner of Rodeo and South LaBrea.
This is private property, but birders are welcome. Please be courteous to
residents.
A BLACK-AND-WHITE warbler was at Ladera Park in Ladera Heights on October 4.
The bird was near the basketball courts. The park is located on Slauson
west of LaBrea.
An AMERICAN REDSTART was at the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve in Van Nuys
on September 29 and 30. The bird was near the bridge over Haskell Creek
just before it empties into the LA River south of Burbank blvd.
A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was at Loyola Marymount University in Westchester on
September 30.
A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was at northwest of the restrooms at Sand Dune Park
in Manhattan Beach on October 5.
An immature BALTIMORE ORIOLE was at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont on
October 1.
