12 October 2006 at 06:00 a.m.

Highlights: AMERICAN BITTERN, WHITE-FACED IBIS,
FULVOUS WHISTLING-DUCK (origin ?), BALD EAGLE, PECTORAL SANDPIPER, RUFF,
SABINE'S GULL, WESTERN GULL (inland), EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE,
GREATER ROADRUNNER, BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW,
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE.

Merced Co.
----------
On Oct 10, a Merced Co. Big Day reported a SABINE'S GULL at
the far eastern end of the Gustine Sewage Ponds, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER
was along Gun Club Road near its intersection with Santa Fe Grade,
a BALD EAGLE was at O'Neill Forebay, a female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD
was at the Basalt Campground in the San Luis Recreational Area, a
WESTERN GULL was at Fisherman Point, on the 9th a GREATER ROADRUNNER was
at Dinosaur Point- about 200 yards past the entrance gate near the gated
dirt access road , at Merced NWR, a RUFF and PECTORAL SANDPIPER were
1/2 mile in from the entrance gate. (Francis Toldi)

San Francisco Co.

On Oct 11, the AMERICAN BITTERN continues at the north, northeast side of
North Lake in Golden Gate Park. (Paul Saraceni)

Sonoma Co.

On Oct 10, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was on the fence line to the right at
you enter Campbell Cove (Dan Nelson)

San Benito Co.
--------------
On Oct 11, the FULVOUS WHISTLING-DUCK was continues at the Hollister
Sewer Ponds. It flew into the concrete lined pond due west of the office
building. (3) PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were also seen. (20-30) EURASIAN
COLLARED DOVES are also being seen near the sewage ponds.

Monterey Co.

On Oct 11, (2) WHITE-FACED IBIS were in the swampy area below the ranch
houses at Moon Glow Dairy. (Peter Metropulos)

San Mateo Co.

On Oct 11, a nearly tail-less female GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was seen by
Dave Shuford near the dike and entrance to the Redwood Shores
Sewage Treatment Plant, off of Radio Road in Redwood Shores. The
bird was also seen near the dog run. (Al DeMartini)
