At an unspecified location on 10/10 just before midnight, 1 calling Eastern
Screech Owl, 1 calling NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL (MM).

At the Imperial grasslands pond on 10/11, 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS; on 10/13, 1
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 1 Least Sandpiper (MV).

In a Ross Township backyard on 10/13, 1 White-crowned Sparrow (BV).

On 10/13 at Dashields Dam, 1 GREAT EGRET, 1 OSPREY (MV).

At the Ambridge Reservoir on 10/9, sightings included 48 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 4

WILSON'S SNIPE (MV with Becky Smith). On 10/10, 1 GREAT EGRET, 1 Pied-billed
Grebe, 5 Solitary Sandpipers, 1 Hooded Warbler, 3 Common Yellowthroats, 20+
Yellow-rumped Warblers, 1 HERMIT THRUSH, 1 Eastern Phoebe, 1 BLUE-HEADED
VIREO, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, and others; on
10/12, 1 GREAT EGRET, 1 Pied-billed Grebe, 16 Wood Ducks, 1 American Coot, 3

Along Route 56 in the Conemaugh Gap on 10/10, a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was
found dead (TR).

On 10/10 at Sunset Point, Presque Isle State Park, sightings included 6

Double-crested Cormorants, 2 second-year LITTLE GULLS, 226 COMMON TERNS; on
10/12, 11 AMERICAN WIGEON, 1 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 4 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 1
CANVASBACK, 77 LESSER SCAUP, 1 RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 8 Common Loons, 2
Double-crested Cormorants, 2 GREAT EGRETS; on 10/13, 20 GADWALL, 13 AMERICAN

INDIANA COUNTY:

In Clarksburg on 10/12, 1 Eastern Phoebe, 1 singing RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, 1
AMERICAN TREE SPARROW (MC).


LAWRENCE COUNTY:

On 10/13 at the Three Rivers gravel pond, 1 drake NORTHERN PINTAIL, 10
RING-NECKED DUCKS, 3 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 1 Hooded Merganser, 1 Pied-billed
Grebe, 2 American Coots, 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS; on 10/15, 18 RING-NECKED
DUCKS, 6 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 2 American Coots (MV).

On 10/13 at Edwards Road, 3 Pied-billed Grebes (MV).

On 10/13 at Wampum-New Galilee Road, 1 RING-NECKED DUCK, 6 GREEN-WINGED
TEAL, 2 Wood Ducks, 5 American Coots; on 10/15, 4 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 4 Wood

SOMERSET COUNTY:

On 10/15 in Davidsville, 1 MERLIN, White-throated Sparrows, 2 AMERICAN TREE

WASHINGTON COUNTY:

On 10/11 at the Old Steubenville Pike pond in Robinson Township, 2 PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS, 1 Least Sandpiper, 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 1 AMERICAN WIGEON (MV).

On 10/12 in the the grasslands along Beagle Club & Donaldsons Roads in
Robinson Township, 5 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 2 Tree Swallows, 1 BLUE-HEADED VIREO
(MV).

On 10/15 at the pond at Washington Park School in Washington, 1 American
Coot (LC).


WESTMORELAND COUNTY:

At Duff Park in Murrysville on 10/9, several PINE SISKINS were observed
feeding in the hemlocks (DB).

On 10/15 at Donegal Lake, 7 Pied-billed Grebes, 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 2
American Coots (LH).

At Acme Dam on 10/15, 3 Pied-billed Grebes (LH).
