The RUFF on the LA River just north of the Willow Street crossing in Long
Beach was still present as of October 19. Also seen here on the 19th was a
SOLITARY SANDPIPER and PECTORAL SANDPIPER. To get to this location, take
Willow east over the river and turn left on Golden then immediately left
again to get to the river.

A TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Harbor Regional Park in Wilmington on October 14.
This bird was seen southwest of the dam.

A TENNESSEE WARBLER was found at Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach on October
14 in the elms near the Sycamore Camp area.

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was in Atwater Village on October 16. This bird
was across the street from the Los Feliz Golf Course bordering the LA River.
It was in the small triangular patch of grass and trees on the south side
of Los Feliz.

On October 15, both a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER and a TENNESSEE WARBLER were
at Legg Lake in South El Monte. Both birds were just west of Restroom #7,
closest to the south parking lot.

At Madrona Marsh in Torrance, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and a PALM WARBLER were
found on October 14.

A SWAMP SPARROW that spent last winter at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas
has returned and was reported on October 16. Look for the bird near the
small green pier on the north side of the lake.

Continuing at Bonelli is the returning PAINTED REDSTART around the parking
lot near Restroom #8. The latest report is from October 18.

This report is sponsored by the Los Angeles Audubon Society.
