EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS -

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, December 8.

The BELL'S VIREO along Oyster Pond Road in the Woods Hole section of
Falmouth was last reported on Wednesday, and the LARK SPARROW was
still present today along Ward Swift Road in Bourne.

A report from Marblehead included 9 CAROLINA WRENS, 5 WINTER
WRENS, 2 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, 2 HERMIT THRUSHES, 2 GRAY
CATBIRDS, 1 YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, and 1 FIELD SPARROW, and
seen at Nantucket this week were 1 SNOW GOOSE, 12 CANVASBACKS,
17 PIED-BILLED GREBES, 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS, 91 AMERICAN
COOTS, 17 PURPLE SANDPIPERS, 8 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS,
35 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 50 RAZORBILLS, 16 TREE
SWALLOWS, and 2 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS.

Miscellaneous reports this week have included two unidentified
jaegers and a
WHITE-EYED VIREO at Halibut Point in Rockport, roughly 60 HARLEQUIN
DUCKS between Halibut Point and Cathedral Ledge in Rockport, the
EARED
GREBE, 1 LITTLE GULL, and 2 ICELAND GULLS in Gloucester Harbor,
an AMERICAN BITTERN, 1 BLACK-HEADED GULL, and 1 NORTHERN
SHRIKE at Wingaersheek Beach in West Gloucester, 1 RED-THROATED
LOON and a GREAT CORMORANT at Kenoza Reservoir in Haverill, a
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT and 3 FOX SPARROWS in Nahant, 60 RED-
WINGED BLACKBIRDS in Northboro, 161 FISH CROWS in Dorchester, a
SNOW GOOSE in Scituate, 22 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS at the Daniel
Webster Sanctuary in Marshfield, 2 YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS in
Falmouth, and roughly 435,000 LONG-TAILED DUCKS counted from
a ferry crossing Nantucket Sound.
