This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Friday, December 1st,
2006.

A EURASIAN WIGEON, 80 AMERICAN WIGEON, and 2 male REDHEADS were seen in the
southwest portion of Great Bay in Greenland on November 25th.

An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen in Greenland on Newington Road just north
of the signed driveway leading to Sunset Farm in tall grasses in public
access fields north of the gully with the personal weather tower, and
another one was seen in North Hampton, both on November 25th.

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Frost Point at Odiorne Point State
Park in Rye on November 22nd, and one was seen at the Durham Town Landing on
November 24th.

An ICELAND GULL was seen near the Yankee Fisherman's Coop in Seabrook on
November 28th. 70 SNOW BUNTINGS were also present.

A GLAUCOUS GULL, an ICELAND GULL, 5 AMERICAN COOT, and 2 NORTHERN PINTAIL
were seen at the Rochester Waste Water Treatment Plant and Pickering Ponds
on November 22nd. The treatment plant is gated and the hours of operation
are 7:30-3:00 on weekdays. If you visit, please check in at the office and
be out of the plant by 2:45 so that plant personnel do not have to ask
birders to leave. Do not drive on the dikes and do not block the road. The
Trails at Pickering Ponds, located east of the plant, are not gated, and are
always open during daylight hours.

2 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 25 HORNED LARKS, 30 SNOW BUNTINGS, and 2
"IPSWICH" SAVANNAH SPARROWS were seen at Hampton Beach State Park on
November 25th, and a MERLIN was seen there on the 23rd.

40 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were seen at Seapoint Beach in Portsmouth on November
26th.

A female CAPE MAY WARBLER, was seen on Myrica Avenue in Rye on November
27th. It was feeding in trees along the western shore of a small pond near
Route 1A. A COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was seen in Greenland and one was seen in
Hampton on November 24th. A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen in Seabrook on
November 24th, and one was seen in South Hampton on the 22nd.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in on Martin Road in Fremont on November 28th,
and one was seen near Drinkwater Road in Exeter on the 27th.

An AMERICAN BITTERN was seen at Henry's Pool, a tidal body of water located
on the southwest side of the intersection of Route 101E and Route 1A, in
Hampton on November 23rd.

12 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at the Pondicherry National Wildlife
Refuge in Jefferson on November 27th.

3 SPRUCE GROUSE, over 40 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, 11 BOREAL CHICKADEES, 20
AMERICAN ROBINS, 25 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, and 15 PINE SISKINS were seen
along the trail into Shoal Pond in the Pemigewasset Wilderness in Lincoln on
November 26th.

A hiker traveling along the Crawford Path over Mount Pierce in Beans Grant
counted 28 BOREAL CHICKADEES and a GRAY JAY on November 24th.

Several EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from Franconia Notch in Franconia on
November 27th.

A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen along Mount Cardigan Road in Alexandria on
November 25th.

A TREE SWALLOW, a RED-NECKED GREBE, a RUDDY DUCK, and a RED-THROATED LOON
were all seen on Lake Massabesic in Auburn on November 25th.

4 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, a FIELD SPARROW, and an AMERICAN COOT were seen at
the Brentwood Mitigation Area on Pine Road in Brentwood on November 22nd.

24 TURKEY VULTURES were seen near a roost site in Newmarket on November
28th.

14 COMMON GOLDENEYE were seen on Lower Kimball Pond in South Chatham on
November 22nd.

A WINTER WREN was seen in Rumney on November 25th.
