Monterey and San Mateo Co.

On Sept 11, a pelagic trip on Monterey Bay and north highlights included
a STREAKED SHEARWATER, 12 miles WSW of Ano Nuevo, (2) XANTUS'S MURRELETS,
(17) BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSS, (445) PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER,
(5) FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER, (105) BULLER'S SHEARWATER, (18,000) SOOTY
SHEARWATERS, (105) ASHY STORM-PETREL, (21) SOUTH POLAR SKUA, and
all three species of jaegers. (Debbie Shearwater)

San Mateo Co.

On Sept 11, (6) BLACK SKIMMERS were at the end of Radio Road in
Redwood Shores. (Ken Archimbaud)

On Sept 11, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was foraging with House Finches
on the dirt trail along the bluff overlooking Pilarcitos Creek,
where the creek dries out before reaching the ocean at Venice State
Beach in Half Moon Bay. (Ron Thorn)

Yolo Co.

On Sept 11, an adult male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen 100-300 yards
west of the railroad tracks at Babel Slough. This area can be accessed
off of South River Road. (Richard Hall)

San Francisco Co.

On Sept 11, a female AMERICAN REDSTART and the LEAST FLYCATCHER were
seen at the East Wash in Lincoln Park. The redstart was in the willows
at the bottom of the "bowl", while the flycatcher was at the bottom of
the "bowl". A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen by Michelle Brodie behind
the bathroom in some lupine on the plateau between the Legion of Honor
and the VA Hospital.(Susan Barnes)

On Sept 11, an ACORN WOODPECKER was in the live oak grove of the fenced
off area behind the mulching yard off Battery Caufield Road. It could
be seen/heard from the path that runs east and south of the preserve,

Sonoma Co.

On Sept 11, a PRAIRIE WARBLER was seen at the entrance of OWl Canyon
In Bodega Harbor. (Alan Wight)

Alameda Co.

On Sept 11, adult male RED-FACED WARBLER was seen at Del Valle Regional
Park. The bird associating with a mixed flock of western migrants and
resident birds. The bird was well seen for 15 minutes, sometimes within
10 yards, as it actively chased insects. The location was on the south-
west side of the lake. From the north parking lot a "Nature Trail" goes
west up a hill and then across a open area. I found the bird as I
started down a hill to the trail to the Oholone Wilderness.
