EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS -

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, December 15.

Two WESTERN TANAGERS reported from Fort Hill in Eastham on
Wednesday have not been seen since, but a third WESTERN TANAGER
was located today at Fresh Pond in Cambridge.

The BELL'S VIREO in the Woods Hole section of Falmouth was last
reported on Wednesday, as was the ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER in
the Annisquam section of Gloucester. Other reports from Falmouth
included
3 GREAT EGRETS and 3 YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS, and additional
sightings in Gloucester included a BLACK-HEADED GULL, 2 ICELAND
GULLS, and a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER.

Recent reports from the Newburyport/Plum Island area have included 28

GADWALL, 14 NORTHERN PINTAIL, 7 RED-NECKED GREBES, 132
NORTHERN GANNETS, 6 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 1 PEREGRINE
FALCON, 1 KILLDEER, 2 POMARINE JAEGERS, 1 LESSER BLACK-
BACKED GULL, 51 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 24 RAZORBILLS,
and 1 ATLANTIC PUFFIN, seen in Provincetown were an AMERICAN
BITTERN, 25 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 3 THICK-BILLED
MURRES, and a PALM WARBLER, and miscellaneous reports this week have
included a very late LITTLE BLUE HERON in Millbury, 6 SNOW GEESE
in Orleans, 6 SNOW GEESE in Ipswich, another 7 SNOW GEESE in Acton,

a NORTHERN SHRIKE in West Newbury, a YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER in Gloucester, 2 YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS and a
BALTIMORE ORIOLE in Nahant, 3 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 2
GADWALL, and a MARSH WREN at the Great Meadows Refuge in
Concord, 3 NORTHERN SHOVELERS at Hammond Pond in Newton, 2
PEREGRINE FALCONS and a DOVEKIE in Hull, an ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER in Hingham, 7 HARLEQUIN DUCKS and a PEREGRINE
FALCON in North Scituate, a GLAUCOUS GULL in Duxbury, 1 BLACK-
HEADED GULL and 2 AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS at Nantucket,
and 4 SNOW GEESE at Tuckernuck Island.
