Highlights: BRANT, SNOW GOOSE, ALEUTIAN CACKLING GOOSE, NORTHERN GOSHAWK,
RUFF, BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD,
TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD.

Santa Clara Co.
---------------
On Dec 19, the BRANT, both SNOW GEESE, and (4) ALEUTIAN CACKLING GEESE
were in the Shoreline Lake overflow parking lot. (John Sterling, Mike
Rogers)

On Dec 19, the BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was seen at Upper Penitencia
Creek Park in the Berryessa area of San Jose. Upper Penitencia Creek
Park is located at 3050 Berryessa Road west of Piedmont Road. The bird
was seen foraging in the riparian corridor of Penitencia Creek on the
south side of the park bordering Penitencia Creek Road. To narrow down
exactly where the bird was seen, it was seen between Cayman Ave on the
east and a small rickety wooden bridge crossing the creek at the park to
the west. (John Sterling, Ann Verdi)

San Francisco Co.
-----------------
On Dec 18, a 1st year NORTHERN GOSHAWK was viewed from the bottom of
Tennessee Hollows from the Mission Dolores Trail, near El Polin Springs
in the Presidio. The bird was last seen flying over Julius Kahn
Playground. (Josiah Clark)

Sacramento Co.
--------------
On Dec 20, an adult Ruff was on the west side of Sherman Island Cross
Rd. or Levee Rd. (different names on different maps; it's the road that
comes off of 160 and heads due south) approximately a mile south of
160 and 1/4 mile north of where the takes a left turn and heads east.
The fields here on the west side have a fair amount of water in them.
At the corner of 160/Sherman Island Rd. was a nice flock of blackbirds,
TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS and YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS mixed in with the
Redwings. (Bob Power)
