The ROCK SANDPIPER at Marina del Rey continues to be seen with the last
report on December 25. Look for the bird along the south and middle
jetties. This area is accessed from the north end of Pacific Avenue on the
south side of Ballona Creek.

What was apparently the same GLAUCOUS GULL seen north of Willow Street on
the LA River on December 21 was along the Dominguez Channel in Carson on
December 23. On the 23rd, the bird was north of the Main Street crossing.

A WESTERN KINGBIRD was reported from Legg Lake in South El Monte on December
24. The bird was near Restroom #7. Nearby, a continuing SNOW GOOSE was at
the southeast corner of the Legg Lake area.

Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium had a number of interesting birds on
December 26. An eastern type male SUMMER TANAGER was around the parking lot
at Grace Simmons Lodge and a female western type SUMMER TANAGER was near the
north end of the park where Academy Way becomes Morton Place. The exact
location is along the trail that runs parallel to Sargent Place. A
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was at the west end of the Sargent Place trail. The
PAINTED REDSTART continues along Park Road near the playground area.

This report is sponsored by the Los Angeles Audubon Society.
