An immature GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was seen at the E.L. Huie ponds in Clayton
County. The individual appears to be injured or disoriented, and is associating with
a group of Canada Geese. Also seen at this location were three HORNED GREBE in the
pumphouse pond.

A ?KRIDER?S? RED-TAILED HAWK was again reported from Fite Bend Rd in Gordon County.
This bird may have been present for several months, if not a resident first seen a
little over a year ago at the same location.

A NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW was reported from the Re-regulation Lake Dam
(Carter?s Lake) in south Murray County. It is very unusual to see this species in
the winter time, particularly in the northern part of the state.

Clayton County. The bird was not seen the following day.

From Lake Walter F. George in Clay County on 12/27/06, a report of three AMERICAN
WHITE PELICANS, and a second report of this species along with another sighting of
the WESTERN GREBE that has been seen here sporadically for the past three weeks.

From Lake Seminole (Decatur & Seminole Counties) on 12/27/06, from the Spring Creek
Area, a GOLDEN EAGLE was reported. Reported on the same day were a RED-NECKED GREBE,
an EARED GREBE, 600 CANVASBACK, 100 REDHEAD, and 20 GREATER SCAUP. Lake Seminole is
by far the best place to see Canvasback in the winter in Georgia.

From GA Hwy 39 in Early County, 200 BREWER?S BLACKBIRDS were reported on 12/27/06.
On 12/26/06 twenty of the same species were seen in Spalding County.

The adult male BULLOCK?S ORIOLE that was belatedly reported from Bulloch County on
12/29/06 was not seen by a group of observers the next day. It is likely that the
bird is still in the area, but perhaps not in the same pecan orchard in which it was
first observed. It is possible that this is the same bird seen associating with a
group of wintering BALTIMORE ORIOLES at the same location last year. Wintering
Baltimore Orioles are uncommon in the coastal plain region of Georgia, and are
usually found relating to pecan groves.
