SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
On Sunday Cathy McFadden reported the following from Glen Helen Regional
Park in Devore: SUMMER TANAGER, VAUX’S SWIFT, YELLOW WARBLER, WILSON’S
WARBLER, WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, AND WILLOW FLYCATCHER. Glen Helen Regional
Park can be reached from I 215 or I 15 in Devore.
On Tuesday a BALD EAGLE was reported in the vicinity of Goodwin’s Market
near Lake Gregory in the Crestline area. Take Highway 18 (Waterman Ave.)
from San Bernardino up the mountain and exit at the Lake Gregory turnoff.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY
Roger Higson reported the following migrants from the Blythe sewage
treatment plant with a strong westerly wind: 7 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, BAIRD’S
SANDPIPERS, 20 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 7 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 11 STILT SANDPIPERS,
40 WESTERN SANDPIPERS, many LEAST SANDPIPERS, 3 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, 5
SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, many BLACK-NECKED STILTS, 50 WILSON’S PHALAROPES, 10
RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, 2 SNOWY PLOVERS, 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, many
KILLDEER, WARBLERS and WARBLING VIREOS. On Sunday he reported about half the
number of waders from Saturday. Contact Roger for more information.
On Sunday Mike Gurbada reported the following from the Botanical Gardens at
UCR: WILSON’S WARBLER, VAUX’S SWIFT, and PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHER. Exit I
215/Hwy 60 at University. Follow signs on campus to the Botanical Garden.
Chet McGaugh reported the following migrants generally in lower numbers from
Desert Center on Sunday: BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, LINCOLN’S SPARROW, WILLOW
FLYCATCHER, WESTERN TANAGER, LAZULI BUNTING, MACGILLIVRAY’S WARBLER, YELLOW
WARBLER, WILSON’S WARBLER, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, OSPREY, YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD, and WARBLING VIREO. Exit I 10 at Desert Center and proceed to the
golf course lake.
